Weekly Rector's Note: Trinity Sunday
Dear Saints,
First, I want to thank you for your prayers and support as my family and I were recovering from Covid. Thankfully our cases remained mild — some fatigue early on as well as cold symptoms. I’m thankful we had the benefits of the vaccines and booster. I’m also thankful that this variant seems to be a lessened version of what was afflicting people two years ago.
Even though I very much wanted to be at the Pentecost celebration with Bishop Akiyama, I was overjoyed that it was such a beautiful celebration and that everyone jumped in to make it come together so splendidly. Thank you to those who helped with worship and related preparations, the brunch, the bishop’s gift, the decor. And congratulations to those who made vows of faith and their families. I am incredibly proud of this parish and grateful to be part of it.
Following CDC guidelines, and double-checking with a healthcare provider, I am clear to return to worship this Sunday. We will be celebrating Trinity Sunday, a sort of last hurrah in the church calendar before we enter ordinary time (although we have another big hurrah the following weekend with our celebration of Juneteenth!).
I look forward to being back and contemplating the Trinity together, which I believe is one of the most rich and mysterious expressions of our faith.
In peace,
Andria+
