Weekly Rector's Note: More Great Things to Come
Dear Saints,
I am so thankful for our time sharing Holy Week and Easter together. It was the celebratory occasion that many of us needed. As we continue in the Great 50 Days of Easter between now and Pentecost, we have a number of special offerings to put on your calendars (details for all of these events below or on our website).
This Sunday, we have a Juneteenth planning meeting with Rev. Leroy Barber at 11:30am in the Parish Hall. Come hear about our next steps and invite a friend or community member.
A week from this Saturday we host the Portland Chamber Music Concert, “Standing with Ukraine,” the proceeds of which support relief efforts.
On Sunday, May 8 we will be joined by author and therapist, Krispin Mayfield, whose book Attached to God: A Practical Guide to Deeper Spiritual Experience was recently released. Krispin will preach at our 8am and 10:15am service, and be available for a Q&A forum between services. Having read some of his work, and seen him speak elsewhere, I know his sharing is one you won’t want to miss.
On Friday May 13th at 6pm, Artist in Residence Paige Lehmann will be hosting a small exploration of Frida Kahlo and her art, in preparation for the upcoming field trip to the Portland Art Museum’s show on May 28. Everyone is invited.
On Sunday May 15th our Mustard Seed Thrift Store Show & Tell Fundraiser will be after the 10:15 service. Tickets are available on our website and will be on sale at church this Sunday. It’s going to be fabulous food and fun with some very cool auction and raffle items, all for a great cause.
And to wrap up the season, on Sunday June 6, we will be joined by Bishop Akiyama for our celebration of Pentecost. Please let me know if you are interested in baptism, confirmation or reception.
Love and blessings to you this Eastertide,
Andria+
