Weekly Rector’s Note: God Throws a Party
Dear Saints,
Do you ever notice how many of Jesus’ parables talk about people throwing parties? Welcome home parties… banquets… wedding feasts… In fact, our gospel this Sunday is about a woman who has a party simply because she found her lost coin. These images point to a God who throws a party whenever possible.
This Sunday we are once again throwing a big party to celebrate fall, starting the program year and the good things happening in our community. Like last year, we’ll have the baby goats, the band and food. Stay after to eat, dance and catch up with parishioners, neighbors and volunteers.
Since it’s Woodstock Gives Back (a neighborhood wide effort to raise money and awareness for local charities) we will also be honoring the outreach ministries and taking donations for the Woodstock Pantry.
