Weekly Rector's Note: Parish Meeting Recap, Advent and More!
Dear Saints,
Thank you for a wonderful parish wide meeting this last Tuesday. I was so moved by how many people came or have asked for the recording. You can find the link to watch the presentation here. Passcode: 7#t%q60n
This Sunday we have our Grubby Sunday Fall Clean Up (Part 2!). Wear your yard work clothes and bring your favorite tools. Join us in the Parish Hall after the 10:15 service if you would like to get some food first. Also, if you attend the 8am service, you can come back around 11:30 if you want to participate.
This Sunday we will also celebrate the Feast of Christ the King and offer prayers for Native American Heritage Month and reflect on the act of Thanksgiving in our faith.
Then on Tuesday (11/22) we meet at 2pm on Zoom with Rev. Leroy Barber of The Voices Project to discuss next steps on how our parish encourages racial justice and diversity through relationship building and economic empowerment. We will share about our conversation with Bishop Diana Akiyama about possibilities for our diocese, as well. You can find the zoom link here or below.
Advent Is Coming
I can’t believe Advent is just a week from this Sunday. It is one of my favorite times at All Saints. This year, in addition to our Advent themed services, we have some other meaningful ways to celebrate:
Children and Youth Advent Wreath Making (11/27)
Making Altars - A Workshop in Tactile Spirituality (11/27)
“Daily Advent Art - Discovery, Beauty & Meaning” an Advent Calendar and Devotional via email (beginning 11/27, sign-up to receive).
You can find details of all of these Advent opportunities below.
Lastly, thank you for the wonderful presentation last week from Kristen and the Outreach Ministry volunteers. You can check out the gallery presentation in the Parish Hall through the end of this month. Thank you to everyone who gave to make our Holiday Grocery Bags so bountiful and our knitters whose hats and scarves will be given on Saturday. Also, thank you for those who have given or are planning to give to the Woodstock Pantry Expansion and Completion. Be sure to check out the letter to the community in the Thanksgiving edition of The Bee this week!
In peace,
Andria+
