Transfiguration and Pancakes
Dear Saints,
This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration, which is the Sunday before Lent. We'll also celebrate Shrove Tuesday a few days early with a pancake feast after both services. And since it's Super Bowl Sunday, feel free to wear gear for whatever team you would like to see win the Super Bowl (they don't even have to be in the Super Bowl!).
On Wednesday, we will have contemplative Ash Wednesday services. They are always a wonderful pause for reflection and prayer and a meaningful way to enter into the Lenten Journey. We will also have the "Bless this Mess" daily Lenten devotional for people to take home (image below). They are a beautiful set of prayer, contemplation and action cards that follow the 40 days of Lent and end with Holy Week and Easter. We will also be offering our Lenten noonday Chapel services throughout the season.
Next Sunday, we will be joined at the 10:15am service by Cara Meredith, author of “The Color of Life: A Journey toward Love and Racial Justice. She will host a Q&A forum at Coffee Hour.
Looking forward to pancakes and lots of Allelulias this Sunday!
In Peace,
Andria+
