St. Francis Pet Blessing Sunday
Dear Saints,
You won’t want to miss this Sunday! It’s the Sunday where our animal family members get to join us in worship as we celebrate St. Francis, patron saint of animals and the environment and fierce advocate for the poor. There will be Pumpkin Spiced Pawpuccinos for our pets after the service (and treats for humans, too!).
Additionally, I will be reading an important letter from our bishop to All Saints. This is a different letter than the one voicing support for our Building Renovation process that was shared last week, and one you will definitely want to hear.
I also want to share that as we get closer to the Pantry build, we will be temporarily moving storage and operations into various parts of the church building. You’ll notice some of those items joining us this weekend at the entrance of the Nave. While the sanctuary will look different than what we’re used to, we can see it as a sacred time. One where we visibly get the chance to worship in between the spiritual food God gives us at the Communion table — food that gives us life, and the food God has blessed us with to give — food that is giving life to others. It seems fitting that this transition begins on St. Francis' celebration, given his life's dedication to helping those in need.
It will be a blessing worshipping with you and all of God’s creatures this Sunday, surrounded by the gifts we’ve been given and the gifts we can give.
In peace,
Andria+
