Social Networking Sunday
Dear Saints,
It is great to be back after having some time away. I was able to enjoy a lot of time with family. I got to go to the Coast, kayak, stand up paddle board, surf, and karaoke — not one but two times. I also finished some house/yard projects on my list. I appreciate everyone who stepped in and took care of things to make it all run so smoothly while I was gone. Coming back this week, I feel energized and ready for what we have coming up this fall.
This Sunday we have a special opportunity after the services to make some community connections. We are going to have big sheets of paper and the smelly markers everyone loves for you to chart out places and people with whom you are connected. This will allow us to see places we have shared connections. It will also be a tool we can use in our Outreach ministries, particularly the Woodstock Pantry, as it moves from being a short-term crisis response to a long-term community resource.
To ensure the Pantry is sustainable into the future, we need to expand our network of people and groups that are part of the Woodstock Pantry community. And, we all have various connections into the community. For example, our employers, businesses, community groups, places where we volunteer or our kids go to school.
Janet Gallagher and Bill Habel will be there to facilitate as you share your community connections. Please join them in the Parish Hall during Coffee Hour, grab a marker and draw your connections in the community.
I am looking forward to seeing you all, catching up and making some of these connections.
See you Sunday!
