Revolutionary Love

By revolutionary love, I mean love beyond love that goes beyond myself to my neighbor, beyond my neighbor to the stranger, alien, other, outcast, and outsider; beyond the outsider to the critic, antagonist, opponent, and enemy; and even beyond the human to my non-human fellow creatures. In short, revolutionary love means loving as God would love infinitely, graciously, extravagantly. To put it in more mystical terms, it means loving with God, letting divine love fill me and flow through me, without discrimination or limit, as an expression of the heart of the lover, not the merit of the beloved, including the correctness of the beloved’s beliefs.

Social Justice & Advocacy Committee - Action Item Update

Recently the All Saints Social Justice and Advocacy Committee sent a letter to Mayor Wheeler and the City Council decrying the deal that was made to allow Zenith Energy to continue operating for another five years, bringing mile long train loads of toxic and flammable oil down the Columbia River into Portland. On Wednesday, December 14th at 9:00 am a coalition of groups will meet at City Hall to demand a reconsideration of that decision by the City Council. If you can join that group for all or a part of that session, please wear red.

Our 8:00 A.M. Holy Communion, Rite 1 Service, held in the Chapel, is our most traditional service. All are welcome. Our 10:15 A.M. Holy Communion, Rite II Service, held in the Sanctuary, includes a Sermon, Readings, and Hymns. You can participate In-Person or in the Live Premiere on our Facebook page or watch on our website.
