Rector's Note: Homecoming Celebration this Sunday
Dear Saints,
It’s here! This Sunday is our fall kick-off and Homecoming event. It will be an opportunity to come together, celebrate what God is doing in our lives, and thank YOU, our parishioners, friends, and community partners, for the vibrant work that has happened at All Saints during the pandemic.
We have a number of special things planned for the day. There will be a Homecoming art piece to greet you on your way in; the return of a partial choir (all of whom will be masked, spread out, and vaccinated); our 8am service gets to be in the Chapel again; and at 10:15 we will have a slightly shorter service so that we can get outside to the party.
The Homecoming event itself will be outside starting at 11am and go until 1pm. The Fried Egg I’m In Love food truck will be there with food to purchase. There will be free slushies for all. The Micah and Me dance band will be there to get us moving (bonus points for dancing). If the Sellwood Fire department is not called elsewhere, they will be there with fun stuff for kids. And last but not least, we will be joined by the famous Portland Goats.
Please note, we will not have the 9am this Sunday because the festivities need to be set up then. But 9am-ers and online worshippers can come to the Homecoming Event at 11am, which will be worshipful in its own right. Please also note that masks need to be worn indoors and outdoors except when actively eating.
See you Sunday!
