Rector's Note: Deacon Linda Writes
During our Rector Andria’s brief time away, I’ll be leading our Morning Prayer services at 8:00 and 10:15 this Sunday, July 3. We hope you’ll find joy in including this interlude in your Fourth of July weekend.
Independence Day means many things to us – fireworks, tradition, flags and parades, as well as reflections on our country’s past and future. I find myself thinking of the interplay of the words independence and interdependence. Where do we find the healthy balance of patriotism and our desire to make things better for all? How do we treasure our own rights while also acting on the genuine desire to foster the rights and dreams of others? Where will we find kindness and generosity in our celebrations?
May your own pondering enlighten your days this lovely weekend!
