Rector's Note: Transformative Prayer
Dear Saints,
We are now in a new year. It’s often a time that brings excitement and hope for the future. But with the Omicron variant having an increased impact, experiencing the year anniversary of the siege on the capital, and continued threats democracy, it may feel as though 2022 is off to a rough start.
It’s hard to be exposed to realities like these on a daily basis and not be demoralized. So then what do we do?
This Sunday I am going to preach on how prayer might help us find the solid grounding our souls need for what we’re going through. Not prayer in its popular conceptions that are transactional, self-gratifying or control based, but something more humble, subversive, and ultimately transformative.
In the meantime, I am praying for you Saints! I hope you will find many moments of joy in what looks to be a beautiful weekend. May our prayers connect us to the One who came among us to walk with us in all things.
In peace,
Andria+
