Pumpkin Cake + Christ the King
Dear Saints,
I hope you all had wonderful Thanksgivings. If you need more pumpkin goodness, Carol will be baking her famous pumpkin cake roll with cream cheese filling for after the 10:15am service and Bill will have something fabulous prepared for after the 8:00am service.
This Sunday, we celebrate Christ the King Sunday, a feast day instituted by Pope Pius XI in response to rising fascism and nationalism in Europe. It's an affirmation of the kind of power shown in Jesus’ example of non-violence, humility and compassion. We will have special prayers and music for this service.
Tomorrow the Parish Hall will be filled for our second annual Community Share, where neighbors can get different items to help stay warm during the winter. Thank you to All Saints members, community volunteers, and our partners Cultivate Initiatives and Reed College for helping make this special event happen.
Next Sunday our celebration of Advent begins! We have a lot of special activities planned that you can read about below.
Blessings to you in this holiday season.
