Weekly Note: Poverty, Homelessness and the Compassion of Christ
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Town Hall on Saturday! We had some great discussion about leveraging our resources as individuals and as a church to support BIPOC businesses in our area, including attending and connecting with businesses at My People’s Market in June. We also got to enjoy the work of Sunja Gibbs, which is still up in the Parish Hall. Learn more about her work here.
This Wednesday, we have a very exciting event that Yohaan and I have been working on, “Poverty, Homelessness and the Compassion of Christ.” We’ll start the night off with a meal, music, some poetry and then talk about poverty and homelessness through the lens of Christ’s love with people who are actively working on these issues in Portland. Please RSVP for the dinner by replying to this email OR by signing up on Sunday. Donations only. Proceeds will go towards All Saints Outreach.
Lastly, I'm pleased to announce that Alex Firman, our seminarian from last summer, will be ordained in July! The invitation is below. Please email or send Alex note of encouragement and keep him in your prayers.
