Philadelphia Eleven Film Sunday
This Sunday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Philadelphia Eleven (July 29), the first women in the Episcopal Church to be ordained, we will be screening the film about this historic event after both services. The 90-minute film will be screened in two parts. We'll watch the first half from 9:15am to 10:00am in the Parish Hall and then from 11:30 to 12:15pm. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
There will also be an Evensong in celebration of the anniversary (August 2, 5 pm) at Trinity Cathedral and a showing of The Philadelphia Eleven and discussion (August 3, 2 pm), which are open to the wider community. No registration is necessary.
Our new banners are now hanging in the Chancel. We will bless them during the 10:15am service and hear a little bit about them from Artist in Residence, Paige Lehmann.
Be sure to check out the new Social Justice Corner below with great info about the advocacy arm of the Episcopal Church and ways that we can be making a difference through them.
Lastly, we need a few volunteers to represent All Saints, Hot Meals and the Woodstock Pantry preceding and during a concert on Aug 8th at Woodstock Park. Volunteers will set up tables at 5:30 and the concert starts at 6:30 and is over 8:30. It is an opportunity to spread the word and recruit volunteers for our Outreach Ministries. You don't have to have volunteered in outreach to volunteer at this event. We will give you all the info you need. And you get to enjoy a fun outdoor concert on a beautiful summer night!
In peace,
Andria+
