Feast of Epiphany
Dear Saints,
This Sunday, we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany, a day that commemorates the Magi’s journey to Bethlehem.
On this day, our children will receive handcrafted crowns to wear. After the services we will have Epiphany Cake. Epiphany cakes hold different meanings in different cultures—they’re often called King Cakes, and sometimes are associated with Mardi Gras. In the traditional Epiphany Cake, and in our celebration, there is a bean hidden in a piece of parchment paper symbolizing the hidden Christ Child. The person who finds the bean is officially crowned “The King of Epiphany.” Look for and let us know if your piece of cake has the bean inside!
I'm very much looking forward to our festive celebration and entering into this new year with our community.
In peace
