Cake, crowns and more!
Dear Saints,
Happy New Year! And happy Ninth Day of Christmas!! I hope you have had a good Christmas season and start to the new year.
This Sunday, we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany, a day that commemorates the Magi’s journey to Bethlehem. Our prayers, songs, readings and sermon will be Epiphany themed. Children will receive handmade crowns to wear. After the services we will have King’s Cake, and the person who finds the object symbolizing the hidden Christ Child in their cake will be crowned “King of Epiphany.”
Coming up in January, we also have the MLK Sunday celebration (Jan 19) and Annual Meeting/Parish Lunch (Jan 26) to look forward to.
Blessings to you this Epiphany and in the new beginnings the new year brings.
In peace,
Andria+
