Advent and Good News!
Dear Saints,
There are so many great things to share, it’s hard to know where to begin!
This last week, our permit for the Woodstock Pantry build was approved by the city. This is a significant accomplishment and a tremendous step forward for us. It means we can start to work on an actual timeline for the build and gets us that much closer to having a welcoming, permanent structure for Pantry operations.
Additionally, we had a very successful Giving Tuesday and week of giving for the Woodstock Pantry GoFundMe. We are currently at $29,430 in GoFundMe donations, along with donations made through the church that we will be adding to that total. The generosity has been amazing! Thank you for sharing, posting and donating. The compassion and commitment to serve Christ through this feeding ministry is incredible. Thank you so much.
These new developments seem particularly well-timed since this week we begin the season of Advent, which is about good news, new beginnings and preparing for Christ's birth.
As part of our celebration, this Sunday we will have beautiful Advent themed services with the wreath lighting and special prayers and music. After the 10:15am service we will have Advent Wreath Making for the kids and any adults who want to join them.
This Sunday we will also commission our new Lay Eucharistic Visitors. We have been blessed with a number of volunteers in this area. If you or anyone you know would like Communion brought, please let us know. It’s an important way that we stay connected and experience ourselves as one body in sharing one bread and one cup.
Blessings to you as we begin this season of preparation and waiting for Christ's coming with joyful anticipation.
In peace,
Andria+
