Celebrating Women's Ordination and the Philadelphia Eleven
Dear Saints,
We have a very special service coming up this Sunday! Our worship at 8:00am and 10:15 is designed to represent parts of the ordination for the Philadelphia Eleven, the first women who were ordained in the Episcopal Church, with readings and hymns that were part of the original service. This summer marks the 50th Anniversary of their ordination. But we wanted to hold this service a month early while we still had the "Inspiring Women" art exhibit up that features the Rev. Dr. Alla Bozarth, an Oregon resident and one of the women ordained on that historic day. Rev. Dr. Constance Hammond, who is a friend of Bozarth, will be preaching.
We also have a few other exciting things coming up in June!
June 16 - Worship with Juneteenth Hymns and Prayers
June 19 - Juneteenth Portland Pickles Game with The Voices Project
June 22 - Newcomers Potluck
June 23 - Ways to Serve at All Saints Coffee Hour Conversations
June 30 - Strategic Plan Presentation hosted by Visioning Team & Vestry
And pretty soon we will be adding a big celebration for the completion of the Woodstock Pantry and the ADA Accessible entrance. What a wonderful start to our summer!
With gratitude,
Andria+
